Reporting is a vital part of keeping our volunteers, young people and families safe across Southern Europe District. By recording and reviewing incidents, near misses and concerns, we can identify patterns, address hazards early and continuously improve the safety of our activities.
The Scout Association requires all groups and districts to maintain a culture of open and honest reporting. Whether something went wrong, nearly went wrong, or you simply spotted a hazard, logging it helps protect everyone in our Scouting community. All reports are treated seriously and reviewed by the District Team.

Near Miss
A near miss is an unexpected event where someone could have been hurt but was not. Reporting near misses is essential — they are early warning signs of potential hazards. Use this form to log any near-miss incidents involving volunteers, young people, equipment or District-organised activities.
Why Report?
Good reporting culture is at the heart of safe Scouting. Every report you submit helps the District Team spot trends, address risks before they become incidents, and demonstrate our commitment to the safety of every young person and volunteer in Southern Europe District.
Reports are reviewed confidentially by the District Team. You will never be penalised for reporting in good faith — quite the opposite. Reporting is an act of responsibility that makes our Scouting safer for everyone.
