Would you like to make a difference by being a Trustee of Southern Europe, British Scouting Overseas?
Southern Europe District of British Scouting Overseas (BSO) wants to appoint four new trustees, to serve for an initial term of three years, starting in July 2024. Our trustee board provides collective leadership and governance oversight of the District. An important role is to support our volunteers, who deliver skills for life to young people (British and other expatriates) in our 11 Scout Groups in Southern Europe.
The Trustee Board’s role is to support our volunteers, through the District Lead Volunteer and District Chair, so that they can do their role of providing a great programme for our young people.
What experience do I need to be a Southern Europe District trustee?
You may be of any nationality – the only condition is that you are willing and able to carry out the duties of a trustee. The main requirement is a commitment to Scout values and willingness to do the best you can to help the Board carry out their role.
If you are interested in becoming a trustee, please send an email to the District Chair, Bob Thorpe (bob.thorpe@britishscoutingoverseas.org.uk), with confirmation of your wish to be a Southern Europe District trustee and more about what you feel you can bring to the Board to help them in their work. Please include your full name and feel free to provide any details you think will help the selection panel to consider your application.
We look forward to hearing from you! The closing date is 17th June 2024.
